To The Most High
Intro Bismillah Rahmani Rahimi I’ve got God in me but I am certainly not divine In belief is where I find my relief Give Thanks and Praise to the Most High, the Most High Allmighty Allah Verse 1 I, give thanks for the gift of life The pains, the joys of life I give thanks for the gift of sight The shadows revealed by a ray of light I, give thanks for the feeling of love All the blessings that I can think of Give thanks for the Divine Guidance Since I know my life is not guided by chance That’s why I must give praise To the East I turn my gaze Hands up to my ear I raise And begin my conversation with this phrase: Allahou Akbar, God is Great indeed by far I don’t worship no sun/ I don’t worship no moon I don’t worship no man, clan or superstar, I Hook Verse 2 They don’t know me, yet they judge me Calling me terrorist, if only they knew me They don’t know me, yet they judge me Calling me terrorist, if only they knew me Brothers and sisters We have to be Islam Live Islam, show Islam to testify Islam Muslims stand for Peace, Rights, and Justice One Nation, one Ummah United we stand on the day of Jummah Hook Verse 3 They tell me you can’t talk African, walk African, defend African While at the same time you talk Muslim, walk Muslim and defend Muslim It’s because they don’t know I am the one MBA Muslim Black African AKA My people suffer and that’s my concern My spirituality is not for you to discern Why do I have to do this return? when my search for Truth brought me another turn? Can you tell me the color of my soul? Can you tell me the nature of my soul?
